Attendees: MD, SD, RM, AM, OD, RQ
We started by reviewing last week meeting’s outcomes: Each one of us said “yes” to the sword of the Lord (from our July meeting), and we asked God to reveal the identity of the strongman spirit.
MD read from the Mega Shift book since its author has spent 40 years collecting miracles and community-shifting principles for exactly what we long for here.
He read of millions of salvations, healings, deliverances and resurrections happening in India, Africa, Indonesia, China, Mexico, South America, etc. In short, most countries except first-world nations.
He then read about some of the principles being used in these areas: spiritual warfare and prayer “mapping” (using the history of an area to strategically confront its controlling forces for evil). There are eight more, 10 in all but we cut it short so we could talk about strongman spirits and pray.
AM and RQ both sensed that a religious spirit was the (or a) significant spiritual force controlling Penticton. AM read their notes on the spiritual and social history of Penticton. OD and SD both sensed that a spirit or a mindset of unbelief was a dominant force. OD mentioned blindness on the people because of this unbelief and RQ mentioned confusion and doubt as related. We all could see how the two stronghold spirits would be closely related. MD felt that as we confronted the darkness, the actual strongman spirit will be revealed to us 1. AM mentioned a spirit of witchcraft as also being a controlling influence, as well as spirits over the Free Masonry involvement early on.
We prayed. As we did SD felt a choking sensation, suggesting a spirit of muteness. SD also sensed and saw a glass dome over the city of Penticton, where people’s prayers hit the glass and bounce back. MD sensed that the dome could be the spirit of unbelief OD and SD sensed. We joined hands and shouted as one “Spirit of unbelief, we break your hold over Penticton in Jesus’ name. Then we invited the Holy Spirit to breathe on people and stir them up to try praying one more time, now that unbelief is broken. We brushed the broken glass off them. We sensed the power of God among us as we shouted and declared freedom to those who have given up believing.
This week we continue to declare Father God’s freedom for the unbelievers. We focus on combating unbelief with faith and signs and wonders.
1MD described how when delivering a man with a “Legion” spirit in 1992, he and others had learned to dismantle its power by binding it, then dealing with lesser spirits who are lending it their power, like removing pillars from a structure. This weakens its power until it finally gives up and leaves as well. This may be the strategy for our city also.
